What is the "easy connect" new feature in the remote assistance dialog?
When I initiate a remote assistance in Win 7, it prompts as a third option to use "easy connect". Anyone know what this is?Thanks...jf

from help: Easy Connect uses the Peer Name Resolution Protocol to transfer a Remote Assistance invitation over the Internet. If your access to the Internet is limited, Easy Connect will be disabled. Internet access might be limited if youre on a corporate network or if your router doesnt support that protocol. You can check your router by using the Internet Connectivity Evaluation Tool online.

So it seems as though easy connect should be explained to the person initiating the remote assistance request. It's just kind of there as an option, and it's not made clear what it is to the user. For example, if I am the one that a person is requesting help from, how do I know what easy connect is and how do I use it?jf

Using Easy Connect, you can get assistance from remote location (user or trusty)When you connect w/ someone, it offers 12 digit passcode that is used to conenct w/ the person.....if it doesn't work. you can save invitation file, that works in the same way....you can send this file to assistance or concerned person and can be used to conenct. You can share your desktop and can access the same w/ someone. I personally tried and its awesome addition.- Ramesh Kumar
